Guided imagery is a useful healing technique. It can help you relax. On a deeper level, it can help you explore hidden fears, anxiety, and symptoms like headache or irritable bowel. On the simplest level, guided imagery might be listening to a audio CD which guides you through muscle relaxation and brain relaxation. The interactive form of guided imagery involves working with a therapist trained to help you meet your inner advisor, listen to your symptoms, and look for psychological triggers of illness. Dr. Marty Rossman and Dr. Dean Shrock are pioneers in interactive guided imagery. To learn more, read Dr. Rossman's book "Guided Imagery for Self-Healing", or check out his website: www.thehealingmind.org Also check out Dr. Shrock's website:  www.deanshrock.com www.deanshrock.com

Negative thoughts are impediments to healing. The body has a natural tendency to heal and thinking positively about healing helps. One step further is saying to yourself quietly or out loud a positive statement about healing. This is called an affirmation. A more advanced form of affirmation therapy that I use frequently is called EFT.  EFT stands for emotional freedom technique.

EFT helps clear emotional issues triggering illness, it helps reduce food cravings, it reduces pain, and its helps clear emotional scars (post traumatic stress disorder).

EFT works on an electromagnetic level to reprogram the nervous system.  It is a psychological version of acupuncture which reprograms the nervous system, except you don't need needles. You can learn EFT at no charge by going to www.emofree.com
